Börek with Curd Cheese
Börek is one of the traditional foods of Turkish cusine. What I love most about baking a Börek is the beautiful and inviting smell while it is in the oven. It takes me back to my childhood when my mother baked it. There are many different types of Börek but my favorite is curd cheese filled. Simple, easy and classic. Give it a try.
Ingredients
- 2 eggs
- 350 gr curd cheese
- 100 ml milk
- 50 ml liquid oil
- 3 yufka (thin sheet of dough)
- a handful parsley
- 5 table spoons of yogurt
- salt
Instructions
Put one egg, milk, two table spoons of oil and some salt to a bowl and mix it. Mince the parsley and mix it with the cheese. Put the yufka to the table. Put some egg and olive mix on to the yufka and apply it evenly. Then put the cheese mix over it.
Then fold the front part and the opposite side to each other. Push the folded parts to each other.
After that cut the yufka in the size of your hand and put it on an oven tray. Repeat it for all the yufkas. For the topping mix the other egg, yogurt and two table spoon oil. If the inside mix is left you can also add it to the topping mix. Put the topping evenly over the börek and then sprinkle the oil over it. You can sprinkle also some sesame or black sesame over it. Bake it in 180 C heated oven for half hour.
Bon Appetite!
