Chard Wrap
I always liked wraps. Wraps filled with meat, with rice, made from made from any kind of vegetables, all of them. Today I cooked chard wrap filled with rice and cracked wheat. Actually I met chard a little late, but after I discovered it, I used it in may of my meals and added to my recipes. It's both tasty and easy to handle and cook. The wrap came out delicious. Ingredients
- 2 bunches of chard
- 3 onions
- 2 tomato
- 1 table spoon tomato sauce
- 1/2 glass of cracked wheat
- 1/2 glass of rice
- 4 table spoons olive oil
- parsley
- black pepper
- dry mint
Instructions
Wash the cracked wheat and rice and rest it in a bowl with water. Fill a wide pan with water and bring to boil. Cut the ends of the chards and put them to the boiling water for about half minutes. Leave them in the colander to soak. Dice the tomatoes and onions. Chop the parsleys.
Put the olive oil and onions in a pan and slightly fry them. Add the tomato sauce and stir it with the onions. Add the tomato and cook for two minutes. Add the cracked wheat and rice. Pour 150 ml boiled water over them and add the parsley and other spices. Cook for two to three minutes and then let to cool. Put one chard leaf to a plate and put one spoon of filling to the bottom side of it. Then fold the two sides of the leaf and roll nicely. Put them one by one to a pan and when finished add boiling water until it covers the rolls. Cook on a mid heated oven for ten to fifteen minutes.
