Sweet Yeast Bread


I wanted to make sweet yeast bread for a very long time, but I could not find a chance. I love to eat it both plainly and also with tea and jam beside it very much. When you take into account the dough periods, it takes up to three hours with the cooking, but if you like this taste like me it is worth waiting.

Ingredients

- 300 gr flour

- 100 ml water

- 50 gr butter

- 40 gr powdered sugar

- 4 gr mahleb

- 5 gr dry yeast

- 1 egg

- blue anisee for topping

Instructions

Heat the water luke warm and add the dry yeast, leave for 10 minutes. Mix the dry ingredients. Pour over the yeast and add the egg.

Knead it nicely and cover it with a clean cloth and rest it for 30 minutes. Then divide the dough into 3 pieces and roll in 40 - 50 cm length. Wait for 30 more minutes.

Give the dough a braiding design and leave to rest for another 40 minutes. Then sprinkle on egg yolk and sprinkle with blue anise. Set the oven to 180 degrees and cook for 30 to 40 minutes.
